CYPRESS FOOD TRUCK USES LOCALLY SOURCED, ORGANICALLY GROWN, RESPONSIBLY RAISED INGREDIENTS TO CREATE TASTY MEALS
When Cypress native Michelle Baldwin and New Jersey transplant Kristi Pearson first met, they instantly connected because of their mutual passion for health, wellness and clean eating. Fast forward 20 years and the friends decided to turn their passion into a business: Rollin’ Local, a farm-to-street food truck.
This isn’t your garden variety food truck. Almost all ingredients are sourced within 20 miles of Cypress from farms like Three Sister Farms in Tomball; Peas Farm in Conroe; Watermelon Hill in Cat Spring; Olivero Farms in Weimar; and H2Organic, an aquaponic greenhouse in Spring.
Their motto is “grown local, raised local, made local.” They only use vegetables that are free from herbicides, fungicides and pesticides, and proteins with no antibiotics or hormones. The pair were already part of a farm-to-table co-op for their families’ meals through Cypress Family Farm to Kitchen, so they asked owner Brandi McRill to connect them with local farmers. The menu changes seasonally depending on what is available from the farms, and they have vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
You can find them at the Tomball Farmer’s Market most Saturdays, as well as local breweries and community events.
